Reviews
CAI refuge in Vittorio Veneto at 2000 meters above sea level with around twenty beds.
Excellent dishes and lots of kindness. Arrival or departure point for multi-day tours.
Nadia and Gianni: two managers who make you feel a family and welcoming atmosphere, experts and mountain lovers. Lovely place. What can I say: 2 truly magnificent days
Small but well managed refuge
Great price
Excellent dinner
Good overnight stay
Not very satisfied with breakfast
Not a huge refuge but with good food and lots of kindness. Good starting point for many paths for expert hikers and some mountaineers.
One of my absolute favorite retreats. Authentic mountain refuge atmosphere, excellent traditional mountain dishes. Alpago is an undervalued area, which should be valorised. In any case, for now I'm happy it's still not very popular :)
Small refuge located in a position from which you can admire Pian Cansiglio and enchanting views. The trails from Tambre are challenging. The refuge offers hot dishes including first and second courses. Inside and outside seating but as there are few it is best to book.
Welcoming refuge and kind hosts.
Exceptional view towards the Cansiglio and, from the nearby fork, also towards Val Sperlonga and Val Salatis. The climb offers wonderful views towards Lake S. Croce and the extensive Cansiglio forest; on clear days the sea is visible.
I would define it as the southernmost of the true Dolomite refuges. It is a refuge with character, despite being very close to the Veneto-Friulian plain, set like a precious stone in a setting of rare and wild beauty, managed with enthusiasm by true mountain enthusiasts. If anyone has ever spoken to a manager whose eyes sparkled as he provided information on the views visible from the peaks and saddles surrounding the refuge, then he knows what I'm talking about.
I found it pleasantly welcoming, well-kept and clean. The dining room has a very large and bright window that looks onto the well-sheltered terrace on the southern side of the refuge. Going up the stairs towards the rooms on the first floor I was pleased to notice the presence of a small bookcase, an excellent stimulus for fixing a greater quantity of oxygen in the blood and counteracting the rarefaction of the atmosphere perceptible at an altitude of over 2,000 m refuge. If nothing else it helps to counteract cultural rarefaction.
Absolutely not to be missed: with the minimum effort required to climb a further twenty meters above the Rifugio Semenza you reach the Forcella Lastè, from where you can admire, in the right weather conditions, an amazing panorama extending over at least five depth levels of Alpine peaks ranging from Agordino to Comelico. If you are still not satisfied, with a further half hour of easy ascent you can be amazed by the view from Cima Lastè of the north-eastern Alpine arc open without obstacles up to the Trieste Karst!
Wonderful place, friendliness and kindness from the staff, good, simple and genuine dishes😋 …
The refuge, despite being in the Veneto-Friulian Prealps, has an incredibly alpine climate. Pretty, small (only 18 places to sleep) and very welcoming, it is the ideal place to unplug, look at incredible views and have a chat with the decidedly exquisite managers.
